Suona il piano ma fa anche elettronica, Suona elettronica, ma arrangia musica e dirige l’orchestra quando l’orchestra serve. Ma compone poco, e si serve di Franco Galateo che si serve dei loop per comporre dopo di che DJ Ergit si serve dei loop per suonare le parti elettroniche. Troppo complicato? Niente affatto, tutto ciò è normale nella MITS dove persone e personaggi si sovrappongono con naturalezza. Ma a noi interessa la musica e a chi interessa ballare con quello che fa DJ Ergit può ballare nella discoteca più immaginaria del mondo, quella della MITS. DJ Ergit of the MITS team instead of «scratching» vinyls on the turntables as one would expect or in any case manipulating some counter machine in a spectacular way, plays the piano. He plays the piano but also does electronics. He plays electronics, but arranges music and conducts the orchestra when the orchestra is needed. But he composes little, and uses Franco Galateo who uses the loops to compose after which DJ Ergit uses the loops to play the electronic parts. Too complicated? Not at all, all this is normal in MITS where people and characters overlap naturally. But we are interested in music and those interested in dancing with what DJ Ergit does can dance in the most imaginary disco in the world, that of MITS. EJ PROT. A 12 anni di distanza (maggio 2022) c’è stata la reunion per la produzione di questo album che appena quest anno è stato pubblicato online su Reverbnation (per tutti ascoltabile e scaricabile gratuitamente). Musica sperimentale più o meno estrema, con contaminazioni jazz in molti passaggi. Interessante è l’approccio con lo storico sintetizzatore VCS3 che, anche se in versione VSTi, offre sempre accattivanti sonorità vintage. Luce & Gas rimangono stilisticamente agganciati al sound del 2011 che contemplava brani come «Jera de sera», «Come xe», «Xe sotosora». Esiste ancora una pagina su Myspace, ma sembra non funzionare. Vabbè. Ora si possono gustare i nuovi brani in cui spiccano «Attimi di tensione» (commento sonoro per una scena thriller), «Tramonti a Topumba» (molto vicina alla produzione del 2011), «Fazcher’s days» (nello stile dei JER), «Due lampioni», brano melodico con pathos. N. 05_2023 – PAG 3 di 12 It was in January 2011 that the first album of Luce & Gas «Sources of energy» was released. 12 years later (May 2022) there was the reunion for the production of this album which just this year was released online on Reverbnation (for everyone to listen and download for free). More or less extreme experimental music, with jazz influences in many passages. the use of the historic VCS3 synthesizer is interesting which, even if in the VSTi version, always offers captivating vintage sounds. Luce & Gas remain stylistically linked to the sound of 2011 which contemplated songs such as «Jera de sera», «Come xe», «Xe sotosora». There is still a page on Myspace, but it doesn't seem to work. N. 05_2023 – PAG 4 di 12 Il dubbio di Cartesio non è scettico, ma metodico, cioè ogni affermazione deve passare attraverso il dubbio per arrivare a una certezza. Riguardo la produzione di Antonio Fiorillo invece non abbiamo dubbi su fatto che l’album sia davvero un lavoro ben congegnato. Antonio sta pubblicando progressivamente i brani dell’album, al momento ce ne sono otto nel suo spazio della Magix.Info Community. Come sempre, scrivendo ad Antonio, i brani dell’album vi verranno spediti gratuitamente. Si va dal progressive, alla classica, alla musica moderna e molto altro (West coast, fusion). «Ma il Progressive è l'ambiente musicale dove mi muovo al meglio» afferma Antonio nel presentare il suo album agli amici della Community. I nostri DJ di Radio Mits (Nada, Daniele, Lello, Loriana) hanno organizzato la play list di questa compilation in cui ci sono nomi noti, collaborazioni e gli «esordienti» Irene Kopolakis (tastierista), la giovanissima Ann, il sassofonista Lucko Solfamic, il gruppo rock Eldfjallakonur formato tutto da donne. One of the aims illustrated concerned the creation of compilations also with "passing" artists with occasional contracts with MITS. The Compilation is now there and number one, so much so that on the inside cover you can read «The first compilation» and the event is celebrated by a special postcard that you will find on the following page. Our Radio Mits DJs (Nada, Daniele, Lello, Loriana) have organized the play list of this compilation in which there are well-known names, collaborations and the "newcomers" Irene Kopolakis (keyboardist), the very young Ann, the saxophonist Lucko Solfamic , the all-female rock band Eldfjallakonur. N. 5_2023 – PAG 7 di 12 Eldfjallakonur significa «donne del vulcano». E’ il nome di un gruppo rock tutto al femminile. Un quintetto di maestre d’asilo cioè di scuole prescolari islandesi, che sono scuole di primo livello per i bambini piccoli. Per la precisione le maestre in servizio sono 4 (tutte dai 30 ai 40 anni). La quinta lo è stata, adesso è in pensione, ma prosegue l’avventura musicale con le altre ragazze. Sara Forstadóttir, Svava Ingadóttir, Selma Gunnarsdóttir, Vala Gisladóttir (“dottir” significa ”figlia”, in Islanda si riprende il nome del padre e si aggiunge “son” o “dottir” in base al sesso del nascituro) sono quattro polistrumentiste che accompagnano la loro leader guitarrist Evelin Hoestgard, la meno islandese di tutte, comunque di origini scadinave. Anche Evelin è polistrumentista, ma chiaramente la chitarra elettrica è il suo strumento prediletto. La «pensionata» Vala si destreggia molto bene anche con viola, violino e violoncello così da dare un tocco «sinfonico» alla band. Il rock delle Eldfjallakonur è ad ampio raggio. Nei loro pezzi troviamo un sound che ricorda Vasco Rossi (che alle ragazze piace molto), ma c’è anche profumo di Black Sabbath, e di artisti della Magix.Info Community. La band come tale non ha inciso dischi, un contratto con la casa discografica MITS ce l’ha solamente Evelin Hoestgard. Evelin ha fatto un album (Evelin.1), ma tutte le ragazze hanno suonato con lei. Il prossimo obiettivo è di ottenere un contratto proprio come gruppo «Eldfjallakonur» e speriamo che il progetto vada in porto perché queste ragazze sono veramente in grado di «suonarle di santa ragione»… le loro song. IN ICELAND, LAND OF ICE, FIRE AND LEGENDS, 5 KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS MAKE THE ROCK EJ PROT. N. 5_2023 – PAG 8 di 12 Eldfjallakonur means "women of the volcano". It's the name of an all-female rock band. A quintet of kindergarten teachers i.e. from Icelandic pre-schools, which are first-level schools for young children. To be precise, there are 4 teachers in service (all aged between 30 and 40) and the fifth, was a teacher now she is retired, but she continues the musical adventure with the other girls. Sara Forstadóttir, Svava Ingadóttir, Selma Gunnarsdóttir, Vala Gisladóttir (“dottir” means “daughter”, in Iceland one takes the father's name and adds “son” or “dottir” based on the sex of the unborn child) are four multi-instrumentalists who accompany their lead guitarist Evelin Hoestgard, the least Icelandic of all, however of Scandinavian origins. The "retired" Vala also juggles very well with viola, violin and cello so as to give a "symphonic" touch to the band. The rock of Eldfjallakonur is wide-ranging. In their pieces we find a sound reminiscent of Vasco Rossi (which the girls like a lot), but there is also the scent of Black Sabbath, and artists from the Magix.Info Community. The band as such has not recorded records, a contract with the record company MITS has it only Evelin Hoestgard. Evelin made an album (Evelin.1), but all the girls played with her. The next goal is to get a contract just like the «Eldfjallakonur» group and we hope that the project will go through because these girls are really able to «play them like hell»… their songs. N. 5_2023 – PAG 9 di 12 Il Disturbo Ossessivo Compulsivo è un disturbo che si caratterizza per la presenza di pensieri, azioni e comportamenti ricorrenti. Sin dalla fanciullezza Graziella Dobolino univa linee tracciate con la penna su fogli di carta, creando inconsapevolmente figure geometriche in modo ripetitivo. Pagine e pagine di ghirigori tracciati in un solo pomeriggio, con una sorta di automatismo inquietante. Oggi Graziella Dobolino afferma di essere in equilibrio con sé stessa, in armonia con l’ambiente che la circonda e sostiene che i suoi attuali progetti artistici sono anche frutto dell’esperienza maturata nel campo del design, poiché dopo la laurea ha lavorato in una azienda di piastrelle in ceramica. «Non sono più ossessionata come lo ero da ragazza, oggi posso disegnare quando ne ho voglia oppure farne a meno. Non lavoro più come designer per cui ciò che faccio non ha scadenze». Le forme geometriche prevalgono sempre nelle opere di Graziella Dobolino. Esiste una ritualità nell’approccio con i fogli da disegno, l’abbiamo vista al lavoro. Ma la cura per i tratteggi, la replica delle forme si fonde anche con la scelta dei colori e l’accostamento degli stessi. EJ PROT. N. 05_2023 – PAG 10 di 12 Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a disorder characterized by the presence of recurring thoughts, actions and behaviors. Since her childhood Graziella Dobolino joined lines drawn with a pen on sheets of paper, unknowingly creating geometric figures in a repetitive way. She pages and pages of doodles traced in a single afternoon, with a sort of disturbing automatism. Today Graziella Dobolino claims to be in balance with herself, in harmony with the environment that surrounds her and claims that her current artistic projects are also the result of the experience gained in the field of design, since after graduating she worked in a company of ceramic tiles. «I am no longer obsessed as I was as a girl, today I can draw when I feel like it or do without it. I no longer work as a designer so what I do has no deadlines». Geometric shapes always prevail in Graziella Dobolino's works. There is a rituality in the approach with drawing sheets, we have seen it at work. But the care for the outlines, the replication of the shapes also merges with the choice of colors and the combination of the same. EJ PROT.
