N. 10_2023 – PAG 3 di 20 Finalmente la MITS ha pubblicato un album dell’anno in corso, perché l’album studio è stato realizzato nel mese di giugno 2023. Sarebbe stato un peccato tenerlo chiuso a chiave nei cassetti dove tanti altri album ci sono in attesa di vedere la luce o meglio, di diffondere i propri suoni. Se guardiamo i titoli dei brani sembra di scorrere l’indice di un saggio di neuroscienze. I segreti della mente è un concept album certamente ben riuscito in un equilibrato contesto di musica elettronica che si fonde con altri generi. “Confusione” e “Cattivi pensieri” sono i brani che per la loro imprevedibilità e forma stilistica hanno maggior attinenza con la psichedelia elettronica degli anni 70. N. 10_2023 – PAG 4 di 20 Ispirato dai viaggi in una terra così ricca e variegata di tradizioni, cultura e bellezze come la Campania, ero certo che l’animo creativo di Sandro Glavina avrebbe sfornato idee nuove visionarie e di buon impatto. Premesso che l’album è godibile dalla prima all’ultima traccia, sono 13 tracce ognuna con una immagine musicale e strumentale ben definita a sé stante poiché ogni traccia è unica, nel suo ambiente sonoro. Ma tutti i brani, seppur ben distinti, fanno parte di un concept album dove tutta la musica è legata ai viaggi e alle sensazioni che ne sono derivate. Fermo restando che tutto l’album mi è piaciuto nel suo insieme, ci sono gli aspetti più graditi ai miei gusti musicali: la dinamica e gli organi di “Tourist on the coast”, “Spaccanapoli” e “La Reggia” con dei fraseggi che richiamano al popolare seppur in una dimensione musicale molto prog. “Prochyta” offre suoni mediterranei e solari, “Attraverso Sanità” forma una vera e propria trilogia con Spaccanapoli e La Reggia. Ma anche tutti gli altri brani sono frutto di bellissime idee e di ricercate sonorità ora sperimentali, ora progressive, ora pop e tanto altro, com’ è nello stile del compositore che ha affidato l’esecuzione dei brani agli «ALTRI», libera e interattiva riunione di vari artisti quali: Lunarman, L'Uomo e L'Ombra, Il Vestibolo, Fonderia Fulzer, Luminarium Oscuri Questo album lo metto tra i miei preferiti, non perché parla della Campania, ma perché è proprio un bell’album. N. 10_2023 – PAG 5 di 20 Inspired by travels in a land as rich and varied in traditions, culture and beauty as Campania, I was sure that the creative soul of Sandro Glavina would have produced new visionary and impactful ideas. Given that the album is enjoyable from the first to the last track, there are 13 tracks each with a well-defined musical and instrumental image in its own right since each track is unique, in its sound environment. But all the songs, albeit quite distinct, are part of a concept album where all the music is linked to travel and the sensations that derive from them. It being understood that I liked the whole album as a whole, there are the aspects that are most pleasing to my musical tastes: the dynamics and the organs of “Tourist on the coast”, “Spaccanapoli” and “La Reggia” with phrasing that recall the popular albeit in a very prog musical dimension. "Prochyta" offers Mediterranean and sunny sounds, "Attraverso Sanità" forms a real trilogy with Spaccanapoli and La Reggia. But all the other pieces are also the result of beautiful ideas and refined sonorities now experimental, now progressive, now pop and much more, as is the style of the composer who entrusted the execution of the songs to the "ALTRI", free and interactive meeting of various artists such as: Lunarman, L'Uomo e L'Ombra, Il Vestibolo, Fonderia Fulzer, Luminarium Oscuri. N. 10_2023 – PAG 6 di 20 Sperimentale, elettronico, oserei dire «schulziano» l’intrò di «Flow Chart», brano di apertura di «Broken». Segue «Interference», traccia profumata di rock (con dentro essenze di progressive). Il terzo brano è Corruptible che, come dice Antonio Fiorillo è un brano di quelli che rimane nella mente perché oltre che essere un mix di stili che si muovono a ritmo dinamico e coinvolgente oltre che danzabile, è un brano che fa anche uso dei tanti campionamenti vocali, magari molto usati o sentiti su Magix, ma che manovrati abilmente diventano puro suono con la base e poco importa il senso del testo. The research è un crescendo musicale emotivo che nella sua seconda parte esplode illuminando l’ascoltatore. Le atmosfere finali sono ispirate alle sonorità emotive tipiche di Tony Banks (Genesis) e dai Synt Korg M1 e KROME. La quinta traccia si intitola «Disturbed waves», atmosfera musicale con bei giochi di suoni generati dai synth e campionamenti di voci. N. 10_2023 – PAG 7 di 20 Experimental, electronic, dare I say «Schulzian» the intro of «Flow Chart», opening track of «Broken». "Interference" follows, a rockscented track (with progressive essences inside). The third piece is Corruptible which, as Antonio Fiorillo says, is one of those pieces that remains in the mind because in addition to being a mix of styles that move at a dynamic and engaging rhythm as well as danceable, it is a piece that also makes use of the many samples vocals, perhaps much used or felt on Magix, but which when skilfully manipulated become pure sound with the base and the meaning of the text does not matter. The research is an emotional musical crescendo that explodes in its second part, illuminating the listener. The final atmospheres are inspired by the emotional sounds typical of Tony Banks (Genesis) and by the Korg M1 and KROME synths. The fifth track is entitled «Disturbed waves», a musical atmosphere with beautiful plays of sounds generated by synths and voice samples. Sono 13 i brani contenuti nella compilation di variegata natura musicale e Radio Mits ospita artisti noti del circuito Mits e artisti meno noti, alcuni anche esordienti. Trova spazio con 2 brani (Ago nel pagliaio e Duck Pond) la Banda Liganda e 2 sono anche i brani dei The Glagal (che fanno parte del loro cinquantesimo mega album quadruplo). Esteban Hotero è presente con «Memories», DJ Ergit fa ascoltare «Everglades Park». Con «Najbaro» (che in esperanto significa vicino di casa) Esordiscono gli Atomik Motor Ensemble (rinata formazione che negli anni 80 era denominata Atomik Motor Trio) ma il genere musicale rimane sempre indefinibile, tendenzialmente free. Najbaro vuole essere sostanzialmente un messaggio di integrazione interculturale. Con «Solitamente sempre soli» c’è il giovane Antenore Sciocca (In arte Scioccante) che canta un testo che ha per tema le problematiche della convivenza e della comunicazione di coppia. There are 13 songs contained in the compilation ,of varied musical nature and Radio Mits hosts well-known artists of the Mits circuit and lesser-known artists, some even newcomers. N. 10_2023 – PAG 10 di 20 A Radio Mits l’avevano già annunciato mesi fa i bravi DJ Nada, Daniele, Lello e Loriana. Radio Mits si sarebbe data da fare per allestire un concerto, anzi più che un concerto una sorta di raduno, una festa dedicata alla musica rock. Alcuni scettici frequentatori del bar MITS non avevano preso sul serio l’annuncio. “Ma va là, questi si sognano di fare il Woodstock casereccio?…Ma dove, ma quando?”. Alcuni clienti più anziani s’erano fatti più scuri in viso perché erano affiorati nella loro memoria i ricordi di quei m aledetti giorni di fine giugno del 1976 al parco Lambro, quel disastro che segnò la fine di una solida era m usicale. Ma si sa che al bar Mits c’è sempre qualcuno che esagera quando si devono fare previsioni per il futuro. La squadra di Radio Mits la sua proposta alla direzione generale della MITS l’ha fatta ed ha ottenuto il nulla osta, spiazzando anche quelli che sostenevano che un concerto rock la MITS non l’avrebbe autorizzato, perché “La MITS promuove musica elettronica”, dim enticandosi che i Vedo Nero (ma anche molti altri che fanno rock) hanno il “bollino” della MITS sui loro album. E proprio i Vedo Nero sono saliti per primi sul palco di “Fedem 2023, Festa Dell’Energia Musicale”, perché così è stato denominato l’evento che Radio Mits ha organizzato in collaborazione con OltrAltroRock (ma anche con tanti altri sponsor). Le regole sono state chiare per tutti, l’esibizione di ciascuno poteva durare al massimo sette minuti e mezzo. Un limite di tempo condizionato dalle esigenze tecniche di trasmissione. Tutti hanno rispettato i tempi e così nulla è andato perduto durante la registrazione dell’evento. Oreste La Nebbia i fratelli Lo Sc uro e Nero Dark hanno proposto “Cattedrali nell’inferno” e con loro ha recitato il testo Giovanni Del Pozzo, con lo stessa inquietante modalità vocale della registrazione in studio del brano per l’album “Frammenti”, uscito nella scorsa primavera. Testo catastrofico, surreale, al contempo intriso di visioni profetiche, uscito dalla penna della geniale Siria Dark nel 2014. Poi i Vedo Nero, per completare la loro perform ance, hanno “agganciato” la parte strum entale de “Il rito musicale” (brano di apertura del loro album) per affermare senza ombra di dubbio l’identità heavy rock. EJ PROT. N. 10_2023 – PAG 11 di 20 Gli organizzatori dell’evento avevano da subito dissipato ogni dubbio sui “contenuti rock” annunciando che l’energia musicale sarebbe scaturita dai vari generi di rock (Heavy, Hard, psichedelico, rock-blues, progressive, jazz-rock, pop-rock, rock elettronico, punk, folk-rock ecc.). Subito dopo è stato il momento prog de “Il Vestibolo” (gruppo che in più occasioni passate ha supportato L’Uomo e L’Ombra). Hanno fatto ascoltare “Vora” che è contenuta nel loro album del 2021 “Le città di sabbia”. Vora è un pezzo con insoliti momenti milonga rock e con una suggestiva overture e chiusura del brano all’organo che reca la firma compositiva di don Antonio Trevi Orsini (in arte don ATO). Don ATO era presente all’evento e qualcuno che lo ha notato ha fantasticato sul fatto che don ATO più “FEDEM” avesse a che fare con qualche organizzazione confessionale, ma “FEDEM” è l’acronimo di Festa Dell’Energia Musicale. Con l’hard rock di “Detroit City” i Galarock (alcuni elementi degli ex Gala&Gala) hanno rispolverato il progetto di “The USA City”, album triplo del 2014 dedicato alle grandi città americane, ma soprattutto prezioso progetto di sperimentazione di soundpool Magix di cui Franco Galateo all’epoca ebbe a dichiarare “Molti nuovi amici e i grandi maestri della Community, mi hanno dimostrato che con idee e sensibilità musicale anche attraverso i loop si può comporre ottima musica”. La quarta presenza in scena è stata “multidimensionale” con “Gli Altri di Pharaonis” (Franco Galateo ai VSTi, Giovanni Del Pozzo con la voce, o meglio con l’harmonizer che sdoppia la voce e Siria Dark alla gestione di effetti elettronici) ad eseguire l’elektrorock “Macchina della Verità” (testo di Siria Dark) che subito dopo si è “fusa” (termine alquanto adeguato perché c’erano quelli della Fonderia Fulzer) con “Liquame Morte Liquida” dal trascinante riff di genere punk. Nessuna pausa caffè, birretta, sigaretta, le cose sono andate subito avanti sui palchi dei Giadini d’Estate MITS e si sono esibiti gli Sparky Tricks con “The looze rat is very fussy”. Sprazzi blues nel rock e un ben congegnato cocktail di trovate strumentali. E’ stato poi il turno della Spettabile Ditta Rossi con “Resurrezione”, goth-prog del 2020 dall’album “L’inaspettabile afterlife”. Una SDR versione 2.0, transitoria e ben diversa dalla prima SDR degli anni 70 che percorreva tematiche orrorifiche, occultistiche ed esoteriche (in stile Jacula). A metà festa è stata la volta de L’Uomo e L’Ombra e chi si sarebbe aspettato di sentire solo musica strumentale nel “vecchio stile” LUELO ha invece gradito “La repubblica dei regni”, brano jazz-rock con il più lungo testo cantato-recitato tra i brani presenti negli oltre ottanta album de L’Uomo e L’Ombra. L’esibizione è proseguita con “La Rabbia Saudita” (da il “Mago del Tempo” del 2019). EJ PROT. N. 10_2023 – PAG 12 di 20 Frank & Harley’s Spirits hanno fatto la loro presenza sull’onda del pezzo strumentale pop-rock “Friends of music”, brano che verrà incluso in un album ancora in lavorazione (di cui non vogliamo anticipare nulla, ma che avrà una “giocosa” copertina che in qualche modo farà ricordare i Deep Purple). Dopo i F&HS è salito sul palco (e ben accolto) William Keaton che ha cantato un inedito testo scritto con Glavina sulla musica di Antonio Fiorillo in stile folk-rock “The wind walks with me”. La canzone è stata parallelamente diffusa anche nella Magix.Info Community. Un testo toccante, parole di speranza oltre la vita terrena. Le maestre islandesi della band Eldfjallakonur hanno proposto l’unico brano che per il momento è stato incluso in una delle Compilation di Radio Mits: “Gul Eyja”. Un rock sul tema dei vulcani, ma non troppo esplosivo, anzi con tocchi anche classici. Dopo una inattesa sessione percussionistica guidata da L’Uomo e L’Ombra, lo spazio è stato tutto per Antonio Fiorillo con un medley scaturito da “The Research” e “Interference”, due brani contenuti nell’album “Broken”, rimasterizzato quest anno. Due momenti musicali dai tratti diversi, il primo molto più affine allo stile di Banks dei Genesis, come ha affermato lo stesso Fiorillo, il secondo più virtuosistico dove si sono messi in luce gli assoli di chitarra elettrica. A chiudere i settanta minuti della festa dell’energia musicale sono stati i Sidro Madre (rockelettronici) con “Robadadare” che si potrà ritrovare nella Compilation 2 di Radio Mits. The Radio Mits team made its proposal to the general management of MITS and obtained the clearance, displacing even those who maintained that MITS would not have authorized a rock concert, because "MITS promotes electronic music", forgetting that Vedo Nero (but also many others who play rock) have the MITS "stamp" on their albums. And Vedo Nero was the first to take the stage at "Fedem 2023, Festa Dell'Energia Musicale", because this is how the event that Radio Mits organized in collaboration with OltrAltroRock (but also with many other sponsors) was called. The rules were clear for everyone, everyone's performance could last a maximum of seven and a half minutes. A time limit conditioned by the technical requirements of transmission. Everyone was on time and so nothing was lost during the recording of the event. Oreste La Nebbia, the brothers Lo Scuro and Nero Dark proposed "Cathedrals in hell" and with them Giovanni Del Pozzo recited the text, with the same disturbing vocal modality of the studio recording of the song for the album "Frammenti", released last spring. Catastrophic, surreal text, at the same time imbued with prophetic visions, released from the pen of the brilliant Siria Dark in 2014. Immediately after it was the prog moment of "Il Vestibolo" (a group that has supported L'Uomo and L'Ombra on several past occasions). They played "Vora" which is contained in their 2021 album "Le città di sabbia". Vora is a piece with unusual milongarock moments and with a suggestive overture and closure of the piece on the organ which bears the compositional signature of don Antonio Trevi Orsini (aka don ATO). Don ATO was present at the event and someone who noticed him fantasized about the fact that don ATO plus "FEDEM" had to do with some confessional organization, but "FEDEM" is the acronym of Festa Dell'Energia Musicale. With the hard rock of "Detroit City" Galarock (some elements of the former Gala&Gala) dusted off the project of "The USA City", a triple album of 2014 dedicated to the big American cities, but above all a precious project of experimentation of Magix soundpools of which Franco Galateo at the time had to declare "Many new friends and the great masters of the Community, have shown me that with ideas and musical sensitivity even through loops you can compose excellent music". Quando è andato in pensione sono subentrato io nella gestione dell’impresa e ora se ne occupa mio figlio con altri suoi soci». Raphael Gambalone oggi è un artista ed ha scelto di raffigurare sulle sue tele finestre di edifici in modo anche ripetitivo. «Se mi chiedessero di dipingere una giraffa o un’automobile non saprei da dove cominciare. Io faccio sempre quello, un edificio con le finestre. L’edificio può essere più alto, più largo, ci possono essere più edifici, ma le finestre sono sempre le stesse. Ci metto anche un cerchio che può rappresentare a volte il sole, a volte la luna, aggiungo talvolta la silhouette di una figura umana». Gli chiediamo se non si annoia a dipingere sempre finestre. «No, io immagino che dietro ad ogni finestra ci sia una realtà sempre diversa, persone che vivono la loro vita, situazioni eterogenee. Nella mia fantasia diversifico i contesti, così come accade nella realtà».
