Perché lei è una strega buona, propositiva, laboriosa, creativa, sognatrice, che parla con il gatto, che si reca ogni giorno al lavoro da pendolare, prendendo il treno, non certo volando con la scopa, che crede un po’ nella fortuna e nella possibilità di migliorare. Nel suo laboratorio prepara le “pozioni tradizionali” che potrebbero ad esempio essere dei dolciumi, o altre manifatture artigianali. Sui treni di ogni giorno (e non solo sui treni) ci sono migliaia di queste streghe buone che vanno diligentemente e creativamente a lavorare. Le streghe cattive con i cattivi propositi lasciamole altrove. L’album si apre con «Treno volante», brano che ha partecipato al Festival di Musica Spaziale del 2022. Ritorno al «vecchio stile» (Music Maker del 2004) con «The witch is a dreamer» e gli altri brani a seguire, dove ci sono integrazioni realizzate con VSTi recenti. Album disponibile su Reverbnation (vedi link). A witch in bleach, not to be eliminated, but in "bleach" to whiten, to remove any presumed black spots of evil occult witchcraft. Because she is a good witch, proactive, hardworking, creative, dreamer, who talks to the cat, who goes to work every day as a commuter, taking the train, certainly not flying with a broom, who believes a little in luck and in the possibility of improving. In her laboratory she prepares the "traditional potions" which could for example be confectionery, or other handicrafts. On everyday trains (and not just trains) there are thousands of these good witches who diligently and creatively go to work. Evil witches with bad intentions let us leave them elsewhere. The album opens with «Treno volante», a piece that took part in the 2022 Spatial Music Festival. Return to the «old style» (2004 Music Maker) with «The witch is a dreamer» and the other songs to follow, where there are integrations made with recent VSTi. Ricordiamo i precedenti EP «Con-fusions» (recensito in EJN, quarto trimestre 2010) e «Dif-fusions» (recensito in EJN 4/2014). Trattandosi di un Extended play, Ef-fusions dura attorno ai 23 minuti e contiene 7 tracce. Il brano di apertura «Quiet Please!» è quello di maggior durata (4:05). Note limpide al piano, tra le magie dell’arpeggiatore e vocalizzi. Con interessanti variazioni ritmiche dopo due minuti e voce del moog nel finale. Il percorso «fusion» prosegue con «Secret files» e ci fa restare ancorati alla dimensione ritagliata da Fiorillo tra il vintage (alla Oldfield) e l’attualità elettronica. Basso, chitarra e piano elettrico disegnano il profilo di «Sync» dove si intrufolano alcuni fraseggi di fiati. Vola leggera e coloratissima la musica di «A new question», come le farfalle che affollano la copertina. Il quinto brano nella sua semplicità ci offre una intensità tale che sembra durare più del suo tempo reale di un minuto e venti secondi. «Hallucinations» è invece una sorta di azione multitasking che sembra riassumere i tanti percorsi musicali di Antonio. «First Etude» completa l’EP e qui si inseriscono anche gli archi in mezzo ai tanti fraseggi e timbri dei sintetizzatori e voci per una conclusione quasi da colonna sonora spaziale. N. 01_2023 – PAG 3 DI 9 With Ef-fusions Antonio Fiorillo completes his «Fusions» trilogy. We recall the previous EPs «Con-fusions» (reviewed in EJN, Q4 2010) and «Dif-fusions» (reviewed in EJN 4/2014). Being an extended play, Ef-fusions lasts around 23 minutes and contains 7 tracks. The opening track «Quiet Please!» is the one with the longest duration (4:05). Clear notes on the piano, between the magic of the arpeggiator and vocals. With interesting rhythmic variations after two minutes and moog modulations in the finale. The «fusion» path continues with «Secret files» and keeps us anchored to the dimension cut out by Fiorillo bet ween vintage (recalls Oldfield) and electronic current events. Bass, guitar and electric piano draw the profile of «Sync» where some horn phrases sneak in. The music of «A new question» flies lightly and colorfully, like the butterflies that crowd the cover. The fifth piece in its simplicity offers us such an intensity that it seems to last longer than its real time of one minute and twenty seconds. «Hallucinations» is instead a sort of multitasking action that seems to sum up Antonio's many musical paths. «First Etude» completes the EP and here the strings are also inserted in the midst of the many phrasing and timbres of the synthesizers and voices for a conclusion almost like a spatial soundtrack. N. 1_2023 – PAG 5 di 9 PitchforkSB è nella Magix Info Community dal 2014 dove ha pubblicato una sessantina di lavori. Decisamente “elettronico”, con tante variabili stilistiche, il musicista tedesco è soprattutto un “ricercatore” e la sua musica è prevalentemente sperimentale. Ad oggi ha prodotto circa 500 - 600 tracce, comprese collaborazioni con artisti di generi diversi a produzioni di altre band, anche nel campo del mastering. Per PichforkSB la musica è uno stile di vita, porta con sé profondità emotiva. Dice: “Ogni canzone, ogni traccia, ogni brano musicale mi fa andare avanti, non solo nel mio mestiere, ma anche nella dimensione emotiva. I più giovani invece ricorderanno Lorenzo Jovanotti che in «Non m’annoio» del 1992 cantava «e non m'annoio e no che non m'annoio e non m'annoio io no che non m'annoio e non m'annoio no che non m'annoio no che non m'annoio». Aristide Spamparelli pittore trasteverino «non si annoia» con i suoi dipinti, e guardando il mondo dal suo oblò, lo dipinge così come lo vede. Chiediamo a Spamparelli «Maestro, come le è venuta l’idea di raffigurare i suoi panorami visti da dietro un oblò?». Il paziente maestro, con serenità d’animo, un atteggiamento molto disponibile, posa il pennello, si rilassa e ci risponde. «Da giovane mi sono imbarcato come mozzo. Durante i molti giorni di navigazione, quando ero nella mia cuccetta, potevo osservare il mare da un oblò. Anni dopo, mentre ero in campagna per dipingere una tela, notai una lavatrice sgangherata abbandonata diet ro ad un cespuglio. La lavat rice era priva di fondo, se si guardava da quella posizione si poteva vedere oltre l’oblò. Ment re pensavo di rimuovere quel rottame che deturpava la natura, con l’aiuto di qualche contadino per caricarlo sul mio furgoncino, mi focalizzai su ciò che vedevo oltre l’oblò e mi ritornarono in mente i ricordi di quando facevo il mozzo. Allora colsi l’ispirazione e decisi di dipingere i miei quadri come se guardassi da un oblò. Il mio oblò a volte può essere quello di una nave, a volte quello di un dirigibile, oppure di una astronave o anche di un sommergibile, a seconda del soggetto che voglio dipingere, a seconda delle prospettiva».
