Advanced Italian
Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm
This course is designed for those who have studied Italian for at least two years at our
school or have lived in Italy and want to maintain their conversational skill. The goal is
the improvement of spoken and written language, reviewing advanced grammatical
structures, idiomatic expressions and refined vocabulary. The ability of communicating
will be mostly developed through group discussions on various topics.
Only fluent Italian is spoken by the teacher and among students in class.
A preliminary telephone conversation must be conducted with the registrant to make sure
that his/her fluency is appropriate for this class.
In order to successfully complete this course, it is important that you always bring to class:
Textbook (Avanti! 2nd edition), notebook and pen.
Students are expected to complete their homework and review previously covered
material before coming to class. Studying a little bit every day is strongly recommended.
Learning a foreign language requires consistent practice, repetition, and memorization.
