Intermediate Italian Plus
Wednesday, 6:30-8:30pm
This course is designed for those who already have a good knowledge of the Italian grammar and
can conduct a fair conversation on most topics. The goal is the improvement of comprehension
and conversational skills, by studying more complex expressions and well cultivated vocabulary.
The ability of communicating will be developed through group discussions on various topics or
commenting contents of the textbook, using all tenses of verbs. Most of the lessons aim to
develop comprehension and speaking skills, using the textbook as a guiding tool.
Absolutely only Italian is spoken by the teacher and among students in class.
A preliminary telephone conversation must be conducted with the registrant to determine if
his/her fluency is appropriate for this class.
In order to successfully complete this course, it is important that you always bring to class:
Textbook (Avanti! 2nd edition), notebook and pen.
Students are expected to complete their homework and review previously covered material
before coming to class. Studying a little bit every day is strongly recommended.
Learning a foreign language requires consistent practice, repetition, and memorization.
