EU Directive 2005/36/EC
Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the
Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional
qualifications.
This Directive establishes rules according to which “a Member
State which makes access to or pursuit of a regulated profession in
its territory contingent upon possession of specific professional
qualifications shall recognise professional qualifications obtained in
one or more other Member States and which allow the holder of the
said qualifications to pursue the same profession there, for access to
and pursuit of that profession”.

Therefore, in order for Medical Physics to be recognised by the
European Union as a Profession, we need to harmonise our
Education and Training.

EU Recommendation 2008/C 111/01
Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of
23rd of April 2008 on the establishment of the European
Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.
This recommendation defines the levels in the European
Qualifications Framework.
These are 8 levels defined in terms of the learning outcomes at each
level in terms of Knowledge, Skills and Competence gained at that
level.
“promote close links between the European Qualifications Framework and existing
or future European systems for credit transfer and accumulation in higher education
and vocational education and training”
