APPOINTMENT LETTER INCLUDING A DECLARATION ON CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONFLICT OF INTERESTS Signature of this agreement by the component of the Selection Committee, indicates acceptance of the conditions regarding conflict of interest and confidentiality. I, the undersigned, having seen the selection procedure established on the Grant Agreement n. 267251, signed between the EC Research Executive Agency and INAF for the implementation of the project “Astronomy Fellowships in Italy (AstroFIt) and having read the Call for proposal D.D. 85 for the appointment of AstroFIt research fellowships. DECLARE UNDER MY OWN RESPONSIBILITY that - I undertake to perform evaluations on a personal basis, not as representatives of the employer, the country or any other entity. - I undertake to be independent, impartial and objective, and to behave throughout in a professional manner. - I undertake to inform the AstroFIt Board immediately if I discover any conflict of interest with any proposal that I am asked to evaluate (see Annex I). And in particular if the following circumstances exist: a) family or other close relationship, b) previous close collaboration with the candidate, c) a direct involvement on the specific proposal. I will notify the AstroFIt Board if exists any other situation that compromises my ability to evaluate the proposal impartially. In the event a (perceived, potential or actual) conflict of interest exists or arises, I agree that: - I will assist the AstroFIt Board in the proper management of that conflict of interest as required, including refrain from evaluating the specific proposal(s) and not taking part in any decision on the matter. For what not explicitly mentioned, I shall act in compliance with the regulations in force concerning Italian public selection procedures, when applicable by analogy. Conditions regarding confidentiality Confidentiality rules must be adhered to at all times, before, during and after the evaluation. I agree to maintain confidentiality concerning all information made available to me for the purposes of evaluation. I undertake not to reveal any detail of the evaluation process and its outcomes or of any proposal submitted for evaluation without the express written approval of the Board of AstroFIt Programme. In case of evaluations carried out by remote, I understand that I will be held personally responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any documents or electronic files sent and for returning, erasing or destroying all confidential documents or files upon completing the evaluation, unless otherwise instructed. Under no circumstance may I attempt to contact an applicant on his/her own account, either during the evaluation or afterwards.
