PROF. ALESSIO PERSIC
COURSE AIMS
Students will be taught how to historically-critically assess and appreciate the
cultural importance of phenomenologies connected with Christian recognition of
the sanctity and cult of ‘saints’.
COURSE CONTENT
1) General section. Hagiography/hagiology: research field and method, sources and
tools.
2) Special subject. New anthropological charter of the dead and origins of the
worship of reliquaries in early Christianity (1 st-5th centuries)
