“... Il mare d’inverno è un concetto che il pensiero non considera è poco moderno è qualcosa che nessuno mai desidera alberghi chiusi manifesti già
sbiaditi di pubblicità....”ed è da questa strofa di una celebre canzone scritta da Enrico Ruggeri che mi piace partire per descrivere questo nuovo progetto
del famoso fotografo Euro Rotelli intitolato Sleepy Places.
Sleepy Places viene presentato in prima assoluta presso lo spazio espositivo EContemporary di Trieste sabato 8 marzo alle ore 19.00 ed è
composto da una serie di scatti fotografici che trasporteranno il visitatore in un mondo silenzioso ed immobile, stranamente ovattato quasi surreale.
Un mondo fatto di spiagge immortalate nelle fredde notti invernali, particolari di una vita diversa, in tempi diversi, che improvvisamente si levano
dall'oscurità.
Rotelli gioca con garbo surreale con i fasci di luce che si stagliano decisi nella notte su particolari colorati in modo da creare una sinfonia di ricordi
sospesi dell'immaginario collettivo in grado di evocare improvvisamente una vita raggiante, piena di voci, risate e musica.... con il sottofondo dello
sciabordio vivace delle onde sulla battigia.
L' Artista ha iniziato a lavorare a questo emozionante progetto durante una passeggiata sulla spiaggia nel periodo estivo “ho provato a chiudere gli occhi
e le mie orecchie e ad immaginare lo stesso luogo al contrario: durante l'inverno, al buio e al silenzio. Un luogo abbandonato, ma dove potevo sentire il il
suono del mare e del vento”, quasi un lavoro psicologico di come vedere le cose e le persone con occhi diversi dall'abitudine quotidiana.
Quindi l’invito è di venire a vedere questa mostra provando - all’incontrario di come ha fatto l’artista - a carpire dal silenzio proposto il rumoroso fragore
estivo.

"... The winter sea is a concept that the thought does not consider, it is not modern, it is something that no one ever wants, closed hotels, faded
advertising posters...." and it is from these lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's famous song that I wish to start describing this new project by the Tuscan
photographer Euro Rotelli titled 'Sleepy Places'.
Sleepy Places is presented in a world première at the EContemporary art gallery next March 8 at 19.00 and it is composed of a series of photographs
that will carry the visitor into a silent and motionless world, in a muffled, almost surreal atmosphere.
It is a world made of beaches captured at night in the cold wintertime, and details of a different life in different times that suddenly rise from darkness.
Rotelli plays politely with light beams that stand out decisively in the dark onto colorful details so as to create a symphony of memories suspended in the
imagination, and to evoke a suddenly radiant life, full of voices, laugh and music... while the lively sound of waves breaking on a beach is heard in the
background.
The Artist began to work on this exciting project while walking on a beach during the summer, "I tried to close my eyes and my ears and I imagined the
same place to the contrary, during winter, in the dark and in silence. An abandoned place, where I could however still hear the sound of sea and wind” a sort of psychological work on the way people can look at things with different eyes.
So I invite you to come and see this exhibit trying to feel - contrary to the artist's experience - how noisily summer may rise from the silence of the
photographs.
