The heater is designed to heat the thermal oil under
following conditions:
- working temperature <= 300°C
- working pressure <= 6bar
- vapor pressure <= 0.5bar
The thermal oil heater is covered with thick rock
wool, contained inside a painted steel structure.
The pressure body is composed of carbon steel piping, with internal oil flow in contact with heating
elements of electrical resistances.
The flanging of the boiler is PN 40 UNI 2284 and PN
16 UNI 2278. The following materials are used for
the main components:
• flanges and couplings by steel ASTM A 105;
• pipesbysteelASTMA106Gr.B(orASTMA333Gr.6).

Il riscaldatore di olio diatermico elettrico è rivestito esternamente con materiale isolante (lana di roccia) e lamierino in ferro verniciato.
Il corpo principale è costituito da un circuito realizzato con tubi in acciaio al carbonio,
all’interno del quale circola l’olio a contatto con gli elementi riscaldanti delle resistenze elettriche.
Su tutti i tronchetti dell’apparecchio sono previste flange del tipo PN 40 UNI 2284
e PN 16 UNI 2278. I materiali da costruzione utilizzati per i principali componenti
dell’apparecchio sono i seguenti:

The steam boiler is covered with thick rock wool, contained inside a painted
steel structure.
The pressure body is composed of a main shell with dished heads at the top.
Inside the shell there is the place where the heating elements heat the water
and produce the steam (lower part for the water basin, upper part for the steam
chamber).
The boiler is fixed on a rectangular base by means of hardy legs made by carbon
steel.
The flanging of the boiler is PN 40 UNI 2284 (pressure retaining parts), PN40 UNI
6084 (electrical resistances) and PN 16 UNI 2278 (plant).
The following materials are used for the main components:
• platesbysteelASTMA516GR.60(orP265GH–P275NH);
• flanges and couplings by steel ASTM A 105;
• pipesbysteelASTMA106Gr.B(orASTMA333Gr.6).

Il corpo principale è costituito da due fondi bombati saldati alle estremità di una
virola calandrata, all’interno della quale è contenuta l’acqua che, scaldata da
delle resistenze elettriche, genera il vapore.
L’apparecchio è assemblato e contenuto su un robusto basamento rettangolare
in acciaio al carbonio, e sostenuto da gambe saldate direttamente sul corpo
caldaia.
Su tutti i tronchetti dell’apparecchio sono previste flange del tipo PN 40 UNI
2284 (per la parte in pressione), PN 40 UNI 6084 (per le resistenze elettriche) e
PN 16 UNI 2278 (per la parte impiantistica).
I materiali da costruzione utilizzati per i principali componenti dell’apparecchio
sono i seguenti:
- membrature acciaio ASTM A 516 GR.60
(oppure P 265 GH – P 275 NH);
- flange e manicotti acciaio ASTM A 105;
- tubi acciaio ASTM A 106 Gr. B (oppure ASTM A 333 Gr. 6).

The boilers, for production of steam or hot water, are either made for low voltage
or high voltage. High voltage boilers are always electrode boilers. Low voltage boilers are mainly element boilers, although an electrode boiler is sometimes preferred. Element boilers range from 18 to 6000kW with supply voltages between 400
and 690V. Electrode boilers range from 1 to 70MW with supply voltages between 6
and 14kV. Electrode boilers are made for supply voltages 6 to 14kV, with outputs
up to 70MW.
Electrode boilers are boilers with electrodes instead of heating elements.
The
electric current is lead through the water, between electrodes, thus heating the
water. Electrode boilers are made for both steam and hot water production.
Electrode boilers can be modified according to the customers’ demands.
Electric steam boilers (2x2500kW, 690V) have been delivered to Alstom Marine (now STX Europe) and installed in two of the largest LNG-carriers in the world
(155.000 m3) - Provalys and Gaselys, which are operated by Gazocean in France.
