The artist roster also includes the Mancuso Brothers who have become cultural icons
of their native Sicily though numerous international concerts, media accolades and their
appearance in the film “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” Acclaimed polyphonic treatments of traditional songs have earned the female vocal
ensemble “Faraualla” the reputation of being
“the Zap–Mamas of the Mediterranean”.
Secret World broaches innovative experiments in which two cultures, geographically distant from one another yet musically and
spiritually alike, draw inspiration from each
other and create something entirely new for
the first time, as in the case of “Meeting of
Angels,” featuring Gregorian chant and classical music from northern India interpreted
by the Gilles Binchois Ensemble and Ustad
Nishat Khan. The recording “Brizzi do Brasil”
sees contemporary Italian classical composer
Aldo Brizzi bringing together leading popular Brazilian and Portuguese singers.

ecret World presents ethnic and acoustic
performances from around the globe, singled out from rare or even secret traditions.
Examples are ritual music from Laos and
Tibet, Javanese Gamelan and sacred vocal
music from Bali, Balafon from Burkina Faso and
rare musical traditions from India. Secret
World includes trance reinterpretations of the
ancient Tarantella ritual by Antonio Infantino, east Cuban Son by “Club Musical Oriente

The celebrated “Music of Ancient
Rome” recordings present a hypothetical reconstruction of the music of
ancient Imperial Rome using original
instruments constructed by musician
and musicologist Walter Maioli and his
research group. The first volume has
been an international cultural event in
news media and traditional record retail
stores as well as in bookshops and
museum stores. Its music has been featured in numerous films, including
"Gladiator” (Dream/Works), Midsummer night's dream (Fox Searchlights
Pictures), and “The Village” (Touchstone Pictures / Disney).
The second volume continues this
unique collection of what is internationally recognized as being the most
serious publication on ancient Roman
music, a true example of living musical
archeology.

La rinomata serie di archeologia musicale “Musica dell’Antica Roma” rappresenta un’ipotetica ricostruzione della musica dell’Impero Romano utilizzando strumenti originali ricostruiti
dal musicista e musicologo Walter Maioli e il suo gruppo di ricerca. Il primo
volume dedicato agli strumenti a fiato, è stato un evento culturale di rilievo internazionale e numerosi films hanno utilizzato la sua musica all’interno
delle loro colonne sonore tra cui “Il
Gladiatore” (DreamWorks) “Sogno di
una notte di Mezza estate” (Fox Searchlights Pictures) e “The Village” (Touchstone Pictures / Disney).
