Professor Giuffrida is active in Algebraic Geometry. His main field is: “low dimensional subschemes of
projective surfaces of low degree”. In the last years, together with Prof. R. Maggioni, he has discovered
new geometrical objects, the “Hankel Planes”, on which he is working.
Since Genuary 2009 prof. Giuffrida Salvatore is the main editor of the journal “Le Matematiche”and
since July 2010 he is “Socio Corrispondente”of the “Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti” (Messina,
Italy).
