Essi sono, dal più frequente al meno frequente: 21 + – always usually often sometimes rarely never In italiano la posizione degli avverbi di frequenza è libera. In inglese, invece, l’avverbio di frequenza va posto davanti al verbo principale nelle frasi affermative, negative e interrogative. Shan always gets up early for school. I often prepare dinner for the family. They don’t often go jogging. Do you always play golf on Sunday morning? L’avverbio va posto dopo il verbo be. She is never late for school. Joe is rarely at home these days. Once, twice, three times, four times … indicano una frequenza in modo preciso. I play tennis twice a week. I go to the cinema about ten times a year. Osserva l’uso di a dopo le espressioni di frequenza. once a week, three times a day … 2 Avverbi di tempo / Adverbs of time last (week, year …) yesterday now Past Present tomorrow next (week, year …) Future Gli avverbi yesterday, tomorrow, now, last, next collocano un’azione nel tempo.
