Michela Gardini is an Assistant Professor in French Literature at the

Michela Gardini is an Assistant Professor in French Literature at the University of Bergamo. In
2003, she got a Ph.D in "Recherches sur l'imaginaire" (“Researches on the Imaginary”) at the
University “Stendhal” of Grenoble with a doctoral dissertation entitled “L’imaginaire urbain fin
de siècle”. At present, she is a member of the teachers college which presides at the Ph.D in
Euro-American Literatures at the University of Bergamo. She is also a member of the research
facility “Centro Arti Visive” at the University of Bergamo and more specifically she is part of the
research section called “Documents. Centro Studi sull’antropologia dell’Immaginario”. She is a
Dissertations Coordinator for the Master Erasmus Mundus programme “Crossways in Cultural
Narratives” and she is also a member of the pedagogical committee in Bergamo. She is a
member of the scientific committee of the review Cahiers de littérature Française and she is a
member of the editorial staff of the review Elephant&Castle too. Since 2009 she has been
cooperating with the review Studi Francesi for the bibliographic section about the twentieth
century. She took part in the national inter-university research Prin 2007 organized by
Francesco Fiorentino: "Voci per un dizionario critico del genere poliziesco francofono". In 2011
she also took part in the international research “Questions d’optique” organized by the
Research Centre VECT (Voyages, échanges, confrontations, transformations) of the University
of Perpignan-Via Domitia. She specializes above all in the nineteenth and twentieth century
French literature and prefers, in a multidisciplinary perspective, authors and subjects belonging
to the end of the nineteenth century.
