The economy of the world is facing too many problems:
Overpopulation, Unemployment, poverty and starvation.
It’s about time to give up the inclination of maximizing
profits in order to rely on a new logic: the one of giving, sharing and
solidarity throughout the world. Why not substituting the slogan
“this is mine for me” for a new idea, “this is mine for us”?
THIS IS THE LOGIC OF GOSPEL, REAL VOCATION OF
MANKIND. STATES AND ASSOCIATION ARE STRUGGLING
FOR AID AND CO-OPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENTAL
PURPOSES. TRADE UNIONS AND MANY HUMANITARIAN
ORGANISATIONS ARE FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE.
In this great effort towards solidarity, a new expression is
emerging as good news: The Economy of Communion.
Let us listen to Chiara Lubich, an Italian woman, who is the
initiator of the idea: “there should be enterprises and industries
managed by competent employees who have necessary skills to
efficiently run an organisation and able to derive high returns. A
part of these returns should be shared with those in need.”
