Intensive oral and written work, including a review of grammar, readings, short compositions, conversation. CREDITS: Three Hours. COURSE OBJECTIVE: To help students perfect all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with an emphasis on listening and speaking; to improve their linguistic competence through analysis of written and oral discourse on all levels (phonological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic); to stimulate students to use Italian creatively. COURSE PROCEDURE: The course is conducted almost entirely in Italian, except for explanations and clarifications.
