COURSE DESCRIPTION: Open to students who have the equivalent of 1/2 semesters of
college Italian or who can demonstrate a high level of proficiency
in the use of the language. Intensive oral and written work,
including a review of grammar, readings, short compositions,
conversation.
CREDITS:
Three Hours.
COURSE OBJECTIVE: To help students perfect all four skills (listening, speaking,
reading, and writing) with an emphasis on listening and speaking;
to improve their linguistic competence through analysis of written
and oral discourse on all levels (phonological, syntactic, semantic,
pragmatic); to stimulate students to use Italian creatively.
COURSE PROCEDURE: The course is conducted almost entirely in Italian, except for
explanations and clarifications.

A = 94 to 100
A- = 90 to 93
B+ = 87 to 89

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Regular attendance is mandatory. You are allowed 3
absences; from the fourth one your grade will be lowered. Midterm, Final and
Quizzes cannot be made up.
