Dario Fo ci racconta come il teatro, condannato dal Cristianesimo dei primi secoli, per un
paradosso rinasce proprio nelle chiese. Ci parla dei rotoli degli Exultet, quasi un teatro dipinto che i
sacerdoti srotolavano perché tutti potessero vedere e ascoltare le storie della Bibbia e le vite dei
santi.

Dario Fo tells us how Theatre, after being condemned by early Christianity, was paradoxically
revived in churches. He talks about the "Exsultet" rolls – a long roll of velum, which in itself was
virtually a painted theatre, that priests unravelled for everyone to see and hear the stories of the
Bible and the lives of the Saints.
