Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group Date: August 2016 Giovanni PETRELLA Giovanni Petrella is Professor of Banking at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano, where he teaches derivative securities and market microstructure. He holds a Ph.D. in Financial Markets from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and an M.A. in Economics from Bocconi University. He is currently serving as Director of the graduate program in Banking and Finance, coordinator of the seminar series in Banking & Finance as well as member of the board of the Department of Management at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He has published three books and various articles in the field of finance in Italian and international (European Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Trading, Journal of Management and Governance, Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting) scholarly journals. He is currently associate editor of the Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions. In 2009 and 2010 he was William R. Hough Visiting Professor of Finance at the University of Florida (Gainesville). From 2012 to 2014 he was a member of the Consultative Working Group for the Secondary Markets Standing Committee at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). In 2016 he was appointed as a member of the EBA’s Banking Stakeholder Group and as a member of the ESMA’s Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group.
