Ad essere rievocata ne I Misteri di Londra, nella sua realtà
e nei suoi miti, è l’ombra della tarda epoca vittoriana, al
momento del massimo, tetro splendore dell’impero
britannico. La notte londinese, nel 1888, anno in cui si svolge
l’azione, è attraversata dal sogghigno ironico e dalla voce
suadente di un misterioso assassino, Jack, soprannominato
“lo squartatore”. Attorno all’invisibile Jack compaiono in
scena Dickens, Darwin, Frankenstein, Bakunin, Sherlock
Holmes e Watson, Alice di Lewis Carrol, la stessa grande
Regina e Lord Mayor della metropoli imperiale, animati dai
Sensibili, che interpretano la marionetta in un continuo gioco
di scambio tra interno ed esterno del teatrino ceronettiano.

Messo in scena da Guido Ceronetti nel 1978 nel laboratorio casalingo del
Teatro dei Sensibili, non è più stato rappresentato da allora, e costituisce
oggi, con la regia di Manuela Tamietti (Melissa) e la nuova scenografia di
Laura Rossi (Aquilegia), una novità assoluta. È teatro di marionette unito
al teatro d’attore, come storicamente avvenuto nel corso del tempo
“tra periodi di letargo prolungati e non pochi insperati risvegli”: gli attori,
i Sensibili concepiti nello stile “famiglia teatrale” voluta da Ceronetti e
incontrati nel suo peregrinare, sono stati negli anni protagonisti, con le
marionette, di spettacoli proposti al pubblico in occasioni diverse, sempre
di grande suggestione, tra cui Viaggia, viaggia Rimbaud, proprio a
Charleville-Mézières, nel 1991. ODS di Torino ha accolto Ceronetti ed ha
avviato con il maestro una proficua collaborazione teatrale e audio.

Mise en scène par Guido Ceronetti en 1978 dans l’atelier ménager
des Sensibili, la pièce n’a plus été représentée depuis lors et
constitue aujourd’hui, avec la mise en scène de Manuela Tamietti
(Melissa) et la nouvelle scénographie de Laura Rossi (Aquilegia),
une nouveauté absolue. Il s’agit d’un théâtre de marionnette uni
au théâtre d’acteur, comme cela s’est passé historiquement avec
le spectacle “entre périodes de léthargie prolongée et réveils très
inspirés”: les acteurs, les Sensibles de cette “famille théâtrale”
créée et composée par Ceronetti au fil de ses rencontres, ont été
avec les marionnettes durant des années les protagonistes de
spectacles proposés au public lors de diverses occasions, toujours
de grand intérêt, parmi lesquels on compte Voyage, voyage
Rimbaud, présenté à Charleville-Mézières en 1991. L’ODS de Turin
a accueilli Guido Ceronetti et a initié avec ce maître une
collaboration théâtrale prolifique.
In the “Misteri di Londra” (Mysteries of London), the reality
and myth of the late Victorian age is recalled during the
period of maximum dismal glory for the British Empire. In the
year when the action takes place, 1888, the night of London is
crossed by the sound of an ironic sneer and the persuasive
voice of a mysterious killer, Jack, named “the Ripper”.
Around the invisible Jack, on stage there are Dickens,
Darwin, Frankenstein, Bakunin, Sherlock Holmes and Watson,
Alice di Lewis Carrol, and even the great Queen and the Lord
Mayor of the imperial city , that are moved by the Sensibili,
who perform through puppets in a continued exchange
between internal and external reality of the “Ceronetti”
puppet theatre.
Produced by Guido Ceronetti in 1978 in the laboratory of the
Sensibili , it has not been performed ever since, and today, under
the direction of Manuela Tamietti (Melissa) and the new set design
by Laura Rossi ( Aquilegia), it is a great novelty. It is a puppet
theatre mixed with an actor theatre. The actors, the Sensibili,
thought of as a “theatrical family”, wanted by Ceronetti and met
during his pilgrimages, together with the puppets ,have been the
main character of shows proposed to audiences on different
occasions, of great suggestion, among which “Viaggia, viaggia
Rimbaud”,in Charleville-Menzieres in 1991. All this has happened
over the past years – between long periods of inactivity and some
unexpected awakenings. The ODS of Turin has started with
Ceronetti an profitable theatrical and audio collaboration.

Ce qui est évoqué dans les Mystères de Londres, c’est
l’ombre de l’époque victorienne finissante, dans sa réalité
et dans ses mythes, à un moment où l’empire britannique
jouissait de sa plus grande splendeur. En 1888, l’année où
se déroule l’action du spectacle, la nuit londonienne est
traversée par le rire ironique et la voix séduisante d’un
mystérieux assassin, Jack, surnommé “l’éventreur”. Autour
de l’invisible Jack apparaissent en scène Dickens, Darwin,
Frankenstein, Bakunin, Sherlock Holmes et Watson, Alice de
Lewis Carrol, la grande reine elle meme et Lord Mayor de la
métropole impériale, personnages animés par les Sensibles,
qui interprètent la marionnette dans un jeu continu
d’échanges entre l’intérieur et l’extérieur du castelet
de Ceronetti.
