(The aperture of the Church to the cultures and religions of the Orient)
Riassunto
Il rapporto tra la fede cristiana e le religioni orientali è un tema importante di fronte alla
globalizzazione crescente. L’autore ricorda l’attenzione al tema svolta dall’enciclica di Giovanni Paolo II “Fides et ratio”. Egli fornisce vari accenni alla successiva riflessione teologica.
Porro nota, tra l’altro, le difficoltà e i vantaggi reciproci di un’apertura del Cristianesimo
all’Induismo e al Confucianesimo. È importante vedere la necessità di una cosiddetta “interculturazione”.
Abstract
The relation between the Christian faith and the Oriental religions is an important topic in
a situation of growing globalization. The author records the attention given to this subject
in the encyclical of John Paul II “Fides et ratio”. He offers various hints to the posterior
theological reflection. Porro notes, for instance, the reciprocal difficulties and possibilities
by an aperture of Christian faith towards Hinduism and Confucianism. It is important to
see the necessity of a so-called “interculturation”.
