VALENTINE’S DAY – LA FESTA DI SAN VALENTINO
Prima Attività
DUE BIGLIETTI DI SAN VALENTINO
(Two Valentine’s Day Cards)

1) Biglietto con finestrella a forma di cuore
(Heart-shaped window card)
Materiale
 cartoncino rosso, rosa o porpora
 pennarelli
 forbici

Istruzioni:
1. Piegare in due il cartoncino colorato per formare un biglietto.
2. Nel mezzo della facciata frontale disegnare un cuore e ritagliarne i contorni tranne
per un breve tratto nella parte sinistra, in modo da creare una finestra a forma di
cuore che si possa aprire e richiudere.
3. Contornare il cuore con la colla e distribuirvi sopra i lustrini.
4. Sotto al cuore scrivere il nome del destinatario del biglietto.
5. Aprire la finestrella a forma di cuore e scrivere dentro di essa con i pennarelli il
messaggio di San Valentino, che può essere indirizzato ad un innamorato ma anche
all’amico o amica più cari.
6. Firmare il messaggio o, se il bambino desidera rimanere anonimo, fare firmare
‘Guess who’ (Indovina chi)
2) Biglietto a forma di cuore
(Heart-shaped Card)
Materiale
 cartoncino rosso, rosa o porpora
 pennarelli
 forbici
 colla in stick
 lustrini argentati
 perforatore per fogli
 nastro di stoffa colorato o filo dorato
1. Ritagliare dal cartoncino colorato un grosso cuore con le due parti che lo
compongono perfettamente identiche.
2. Scrivere il messaggio al centro del cuore e attorno al messaggio tracciare con la
colla un cuore che verrà decorato con lustrini argentati.
3. Piegare in due il biglietto che avrà l’aspetto di un mezzo cuore. Sulla facciata
esterna scrivere con i pennarelli il nome del destinatario del messaggio.
4. Praticare un foro sui due bordi del mezzo cuore (nella parte più larga) con il
perforatore.
5. Far passare il nastro o il filo dorato attraverso i due fori e chiudere il cuore.
Per entrambi i tipi di bigliettini, possibili messaggi sono :
Happy Valentine’s Day + nome del destinatario + firma
Be my Valentine,+ nome del destinatario + firma
You’re my best friend, + nome del destinatario + firma
I love you,+ nome del destinatario + firma
Here’s my Heart for you, + nome del destinatario + firma
COMPACT PHRASE LIST
For the Heart-shaped window card:
1. Fold the paper in half .
2. Draw a heart in the middle of the front page and cut around the edges, leaving a
bit on the left so that the heart will open like a window.
3. Spread glue around the edges of the cut-out heart and sprinkle it with glitter.
4. Write the name of the receiver under the heart on the front page.
5. Open the window and write the message inside.
For the Heart-shaped card:
1. Draw and cut out a VERY BIG heart from construction paper.

Fold the heart in two vertically, with the message and the glitter on the inside, so
the card now looks like half a heart.
Write the name of the receiver on one side of the folded heart.
To seal the card punch a hole through both pieces of paper at the widest part of
the card, insert a piece of gold string and tie it into a bow.
Seconda Attività
LA CASSETTA DELLA POSTA DI SAN VALENTINO
(Valentine's Day Mailbox)

scatola da scarpe o scatola di cartone
carta da regalo
forbici
cuoricini rossi, rosa bianchi o di altri colori
lustrini
colla in stick
1. Ricoprire la scatola con carta da regalo.
2. Praticarvi una fessura sul coperchio abbastanza lunga e larga per potervi
introdurre i bigliettini eseguiti nel corso della prima attività.
3. Decorare la scatola con cuoricini in vari colori, altre immagini da riviste,
adesivi, ecc.
4. Con la colla si possono anche tracciare dei cuoricini da ricoprire di lustrini.

Questa cassetta servirà per infilare i bigliettini creati nella prima attività. La maestra o
i bambini a turno estrarranno un biglietto per volta e lo consegneranno al destinatario,
il quale lo dovrà leggere davanti ai compagni. Dentro la cassetta è possibile
aggiungere cioccolatini a forma di cuore da distribuire poi tra tutti i bambini.
COMPACT PHRASE LIST
Teacher to children:
1. Cover the shoe box with wrapping paper and cut a mail slot in the top.
2. Decorate the box with paper scraps, material scraps, stickers, whatever you
desire…
3. Draw hearts with the glue and sprinkle glitter over the glue (let it dry).

L’attività proposta è utile per imparare/rinforzare il riconoscimento dei numeri e
semplici attività di calcolo come addizione e sottrazione.
Istruzioni:
1. Attività preliminare: procurarsi tanti valentines rossi (eventualmente stampandoli
da Internet) quanti sono i bambini e scrivere su di essi i numeri fino a 10 (ci
saranno bambini con lo stesso numero). Distribuire i cuoricini ai bambini.
(Nota: è consigliabile dare un ritmo lento alla canzone e disporre i bambini in ordine
progressivo rispetto al numero che posseggono.)
2. Spiegare loro che dovranno alzarsi ogni volta che sentono/cantano il numero che
hanno in mano e dovranno restare in piedi finché non comincia il conto alla
rovescia.
3. Quando inizia il conto alla rovescia, ciascun bambino dovrà sedersi ogni volta che
sente cantare il proprio numero.

GIOCO DELLE COPPIE
(Valentine Match-up Game)

immagini o frasi di San Valentino (vedi link suggerito)

Ritagliare immagini di cuori, cupidi, rose, regalini, anelli ed altre immagini relative
a San Valentino oppure frasi racchiuse nei cuoricini (link consigliato:
http://www.mcguirezone.com/goodies/valentine-stickers.pdf ) in duplice copia.
2. Dividere le carte ottenute in due mazzi e distribuirne una per ogni bambino e, se la
classe è mista, distribuire le carte duplicate alle bambine. Dire ai bambini a turno di
andare a cercare il proprio ‘Valentine’, ossia il bambino/la bambina che possiede
una carta identica. Il bambino dovrà chiedere ad un massimo di tre bambini ‘Are
you my Valentine?’ mostrandogli la sua carta.
3. Se dopo 3 tentativi non trova il bambino che ha la stessa carta, perde il turno.
4. Se trova il suo ‘Valentine’, si presenterà con lui/lei dalla maestra dicendole ‘This is
my Valentine’ e poi leggerà la frase scritta sul bigliettino (nel caso si stiano usando
bigliettini con messaggio).
Es.: ‘Be my Valentine’, ‘I love you’, ‘Happy Valentine’, ‘You are my friend’.
5. Nel caso di utilizzo di sole immagini il bambino dirà il nome dell’immagine che ha
in mano. Es.: Cupid, heart, rose, flowers, ring, gift, ecc.

1. Cut out pairs of hearts, cupids, roses, presents,and other images or phrases written
inside hearts.
2. Divide the cards in two piles and distribute one for
each child. If the class is mixed, give the duplicate
cards to the girls. Tell the boys one at a time, "Go and
look for your Valentine. Look for the child that has
the duplicate or (the same)card as you. Have the
children ask, "Are you my Valentine?", showing the card.
3. Give the child three tries, if he fails he loses the turn.
4. If you find your Valentine, come to me with
your Valentine and his or her duplicate card and
say, “This is my Valentine!" “Read what is written on the
card as well”..

batuffoli di cotone

Ricavare due grossi cuori identici dal cartoncino colorato, (eventualmente
sovrapponendo due fogli di cartoncino dello stesso colore o piegandolo in due).
Decorare una facciata di ciascuno dei due cuori applicando della colla attorno ai
bordi e distribuendovi dei lustrini.
Scrivere al centro del cuore con i pennarelli o i pastelli a cera ‘Happy Valentine’s
Day’.
Spruzzare del profumo sui batuffoli di cotone.
Incollare o graffettare la parte interna dei due cuori lungo i bordi. Non incollare i
due cuori fino in fondo, ma lasciare un’apertura in corrispondenza della punta del
cuore per potervi infilare i batuffoli colorati.
Incollare nella parte superiore interna dei due cuori lo spago dorato doppiato in
modo da incastrarlo tra di essi. Rinforzare con la graffettatrice.
Dopo aver imbottito il cuore con i batuffoli profumati, sigillare anche la punta del
cuore.
Nota: Si possono fare altri cuori profumati in colori diversi per decorare la classe.
COMPACT PHRASE LIST
1. Take two pieces of construction paper and cut out two VERY BIG hearts at the
same time.
2. Decorate each side of the Valentine heart, applying the glue around the edges
of the heart. Sprinkle glitter on the glue.
3. Write ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ in the center of the heart.
4. Spray perfume on the cotton balls.
5. Staple or glue around the edges of the two hearts, leaving an opening at the
point to stuff the cotton balls in.
6. Glue the gold string between the two hearts.
7. Stuff the cotton balls inside the two hearts and then seal the opening .
