ASSONAVE , GIAMPIERO SCHIAVONI APPOINTED: REPRESENTATIVE OF
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SUPPLIERS
Assonave , an Association within Confindustria that brings together companies in the
shipbuilding industry , has chosen Giampiero Schiavoni , president and CEO of Imesa ,
to represent suppliers of electrical systems and electronic equipment . The
appointment was made official during the extraordinary meeting held in Rome , in
private , in the headquarters of the Association .
" Despite not receiving support , the naval sector has a strategic value for Italy - said
Giampiero Schiavoni - having a multiplier effect that generates an extraordinary
induced equal to 3.6 times the value of the boat , as much as the most famous and
sponsored construction industry . The goal to reach in the next years is to adapt the
production chain to the conditions dictated by international markets , maintaining our
high quality standard that is universally recognized , but adding a renewed economic
competitiveness , to be found in the development of new solutions . Only in this way
the Italian shipyards will be able to acquire orders , fueling all companies in that
sector . "
Forty-five years old , Ancona , Giampiero Schiavoni is since 1993 the President and
CEO of Imesa , a Schiavoni Group company, that is among the European leaders of
electromechanical constructions and among the most qualified suppliers of the big
names in the marine industry , including Fincantieri , Costa Crociere and Carnival
Cruise Line .
