Brief Description
The School of Economics of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”
is located in a complex of two symmetrical, modern and functional
buildings in Via Columbia, 2, 00133 Roma.
Building “A”, houses 36 classrooms, the degree Thesis
presentation room, a large auditorium with a seating capacity of
450 people, four student reading rooms and the computer room for
Erasmus students. There are also two bars and a canteen where
the food service for student card holders is offered, a student
information centre, and a doorman security service, two computer
rooms, a language lab.
Building “B”, where the Erasmus Office is located, contains the
departmental offices, the professors’ offices, where they meet the
students, the masters’ classes, the library, the meeting rooms, the
Faculty Senate Chamber and a cafeteria.

The Academic Year is divided into:
 Winter semester 2017-2018: First day of classes starting
from September 18th2017 depending on the different degree
courses;
Last day of classes  December 15th 2017
 Spring semester 2017-2018: First day of classes starting
from February 19th 2018 depending on the different degree
courses;
Last day of classes  May 25th 2018
Christmas holidays  December 20th 2017 - 8th January 2018;
Other holidays  1st November, 8th December, 25th April, 1st
May, 2nd June, 29th June.
Winter session: 8th January – 23rd February 2018
Summer session: 28th May - 6th July 2018
Autumn session: 3rd September - 17th September 2018

The University has a limited number of dorm rooms on CampusX for exchange students. The
Erasmus in Campus Association provides for a central booking service in both private
accommodations and in the “Campus X” University Residence Hall. Info and booking:

The Erasmus in Campus Association will send directly to all the incoming nominated students
the housing form and general instructions to be follow (http://www.erasmusroma.eu).
Students will be contacted by the Association few days before their arrival

Cost of living
The minimum costs of living for a student is approximately € 1000 per month. This includes
food and personal care, housing, books, public transport and free time. This is just to give you
an idea of average monthly expenses, but it depends on your personal standards and
requirements.
Accommodation: Student House, rooms in private homes, shared apartments with other
students. The cost is approximately € 400/500 per month. Metro/ bus card € 35 per month.
Health insurance
Before leaving, be sure to make arrangements regarding health insurance. Obtain a
European Certificate or a valid equivalent private international insurance of Health Insurance.
